Village of Forg: A journey into the depths of history in the heart of the desert
Forg village, an unknown gem, is located in the heart of the desert, in South Khorasan province. This village, which dates back to the 5th century AH, is known as one of Iran’s tourist attractions with its stepped architecture, adobe houses, groves, aqueducts, agricultural fields, pristine nature and warm-hearted people.
Architecture:
Staircase: The staircase architecture of Forg village, similar to Masuleh in the north of Iran, has created a unique and very spectacular atmosphere. The houses are built in the heights and the courtyard is below the roof of each house. This type of architecture has given a very beautiful view to the village and makes passing through it interesting and exciting.
Bom Avard materials: The houses in Forg village are built with Bom Avard materials such as clay and mud. These materials are very good insulators and help to maintain cool air in summer and pleasant heat in winter. Thick adobe walls, domed roofs and windbreaks are among the traditional architectural features of this village that provide a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere for residents and tourists.
Decorations: Very beautiful decorations can be seen in the facade of some houses. Geometric patterns, brickwork and tiling are among these decorations that double the beauty of the village’s architecture. Wooden doors and windows with colored glass, green yards with pomegranate and palm trees, and small ponds have created a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere in the village.
