Band Naderi

Band Naderi, a gem in the heart of Iranian history
History:

Naderi Dam was built during the peak of power of Nader Shah Afshar and around the year 1148 AH, with the aim of storing water and irrigating agricultural lands in Kalat region. The construction of this dam in its time was an innovative measure and showed the engineering knowledge and skill of Iranians.
Architecture:
In terms of architecture and engineering, Naderi Dam has unique features that make it one of the engineering masterpieces of the Afshariya period.
Stone Arch:
This dam has a huge stone arch with a span of 50 meters and a height of 27 meters, which is known as one of the largest stone arches in the world.
This stone arch was built without using materials such as cement and only using stones, bricks and mortar.
The grandeur of the arch and its strength are proof of the skill and knowledge of Iranian engineers in that period.
Traceability:
The dam has a huge abutment with a height of 30 meters, which was built to strengthen the structure and prevent water erosion.
This abutment is made of rubble stones and Saroj mortar and has resisted floods and river overflows for many years.
Overflow:
The dam has a spillway with a width of 10 meters, which is installed to divert excess water during floods.
This spillway prevents the erosion of the crest of the dam as well as the occurrence of floods downstream of the dam.
