The Sassanid palace is made of stone and plaster mortar. The walls of the palace are very thick, reaching up to 3 meters in some cases. The palace has a large central courtyard surrounded by rooms and halls.
The Sassanid palace has been renovated many times throughout history. The last fundamental restoration of the palace was done in 1385.
