The Palace of the Sun

The Palace of the Sun, which is also known as the Palace of Kalat or the Palace of the Sun, is a building related to the Afshariya period, located in the city of Kalat in Razavi Khorasan province. This palace was built by the order of Nader Shah Afshar in the middle of his reign in 1121 AH and was used as a place of residence as well as a treasury for jewels and war trophies.
Architecture:
Khurshid Palace is built on three floors and consists of different parts such as Diwankhaneh, harem, ceremonial hall, porches and towers. In terms of architecture, this building is a fusion of Iranian and Indian styles and materials such as stone, brick and plaster have been used in its construction.
Decorations:
Khurshid Palace is decorated using various elements such as tiling, painting, mirroring and plastering. Various motifs such as flowers and bushes, animals, Iranian mythology and Quranic verses have been used in the decoration of this building.
