The British cemetery: a relic of the colonial era in Bushehr
The British Cemetery, also known as the English Invaders Cemetery, is located in Dowas Bahmani neighborhood of Bushehr city. This cemetery is a relic of the British colonial era in Iran and is the burial place of British soldiers and officers who were killed in the Iran-British wars in southern Iran.
History:
Wars between Iran and England: At the end of the Qajar period, Iran and England had several wars with each other. Among these wars was the war between Iran and England in 1856 AD and the First World War.
Establishment of the cemetery: Following these wars, a number of British soldiers and officers were killed and buried in what is now known as the British cemetery.

Area: The English cemetery has an area of about 5000 square meters.
Number of gravestones: There are about 1000 gravestones in this cemetery.
Characteristics of the tombstones: The tombstones are made of marble and in English, and include information such as the name, date of birth, and date of death of the deceased.
Current Status: The British Cemetery is currently in poor condition with many gravestones broken or worn.
