Tavakoli House, Mashhad: A gem in the heart of history
Tavakoli house of Mashhad, like a gem in the heart of the history of Mashhad city, is located on Nawab Safavi street. This house, known as one of Mashhad’s museums, is a relic of the Qajar era.
Tawakli House was built in 1255 AH by Haj Mohammad Taghi Tawakli, one of the famous merchants of Mashhad. This house is located in a large complex with several courtyards and buildings. The main part of Tavakli House is built on two floors. The first floor has a large hall with beautiful decorations. These decorations include plastering, wall painting, and also mirror work. The second floor also has several rooms that were used as bedrooms and living rooms in the past.
Tavakoli House was purchased and renovated by the Cultural Heritage Organization in 2013. This house was opened as a museum in 1383. Currently, various works such as stoneware, pottery, as well as historical documents are exhibited in the Tavakoli Museum.
