Sultan Begum Mansion: a treasure of architecture and history in the heart of Tehran
Sultan Begum Mansion, which is also known as Bazaar Museum House, is located on 15 Khordad Street in Tehran and in the heart of Tehran’s Grand Bazaar. This magnificent mansion, which was built during the Qajar period and by the order of Sultan Begum Shojaei, the sister of Ahmad Shah Qajar, is a symbol of authentic Iranian architecture and a reminder of the ups and downs of this land’s history.
Architecture:
Sultan Begum mansion with an area of about 2200 square meters, on two floors, was built using the best materials and the art of prominent architects and artists of that period. The exterior of the mansion is made of brick and similar, with brick and tile decorations, giving it an eye-catching and magnificent effect.

The interior of Sultan Begum’s mansion is full of elegance and beauty. Exquisite plasterwork, wall paintings, delicate mirrors, decorated wooden doors and hand-woven carpets, all together, have created a luxurious and regal atmosphere.
Halls:
Sultan Begum’s mansion has several halls, each of which is known by a special name. Hall of Mirrors, Hall of Ceremonies, Hall of Shahneshin and Hall of Crystal are among these halls.
Museum:
Today, Sultan Begum’s mansion is open to the public as a museum of Iranian history and culture. In this museum, various objects such as dishes, carpets, paintings, furniture and objects related to life in the Qajar period are displayed.
