Sirjan stone garden: a gem in the heart of the desert
Sirjan Stone Garden, also known as Dervish Khan Esfandiarpur Garden, is a unique museum garden in Kerman province. The garden was created by Darwish Khan Esfandiarpour, a local artist, over 40 years using stone, cement, and metal scraps.
History:
Darvish Khan of Esfandiarpur started building a stone garden in 1340. He built this garden as a memorial to his wife who died young. Darvish Khan continued to build a stone garden until 1380 and finally died at the age of 80.
Architecture:
Sirjan Stone Garden has an area of about 4000 square meters and includes various parts such as statues, columns, towers, and ponds. Darvish Khan did not use any previous plans to build this garden and built it all with his own creativity and initiative.
Statues:
One of the interesting parts of the stone garden is the numerous sculptures in it. These sculptures, made of stone and cement, depict humans, animals, and mythological creatures.
Columns and towers:
In the stone garden, there are also numerous columns and towers, some of which are more than 10 meters high. These columns and towers are made of stone and cement and decorated with metal pieces.
Ponds:
In the rock garden, there are also several ponds where water collects. These ponds add to the beauty of the garden and are a place for rest and relaxation.
