Sigari historical house: a journey through time to the heart of Yazd
The historical house of Sigari, a gem in the heart of the Yazd desert, with its magnificent architecture and delicate decorations, seems to open a window to the past and takes you on a journey through time. Walking in this house, which is more than 120 years old, gives you the feeling of living in the Qajar era.
Architecture:
Sigari house with an area of about 2000 square meters is built on a land of 1400 square meters. This house with a square plan and a central courtyard has four porches on the north, south, east and west sides. The porches with high arches and delicate decorations have created a magnificent and eye-catching atmosphere.
Decorations:
The decorations of Sigari’s house are like a treasure of Iranian art. Delicate and colorful tiles, artistic plastering, wall paintings and eye-catching mirrors create a pleasant and memorable atmosphere. Among these decorations, Sarbineh’s paintings with subjects such as the stories of Shahnameh, Lili and Majnoon, and Khosrow and Shirin have given a special effect to this part of the house.
Different sections:
Sigari house includes different parts such as entrance, corridor, serbineh, middle door, hot house, qareena, tone, gauro, service support space and stable.
Entrance:
The entrance of the house with long vaults and arches and delicate decorations has created a magnificent and eye-catching atmosphere. Above the entrance door, a stone inscription with the date of construction of the house and the name of Haj Abdul Hossein Sigari, a tobacco merchant, can be seen.
Hallway:
The hallway of the house is a space between the entrance and the roof, which is used to control the temperature of the house and maintain privacy. This section has provided a cool and pleasant atmosphere for the visitors with its carved arches and beautiful brickwork.
Serbina:
Sarbineh house is a large and clean space with a large pond in the center. In this section, people changed their clothes and rested before entering the hothouse. The high ceiling of Sarbineh with artistic plastering and wall paintings has created a special and eye-catching atmosphere.
Middle:
The middle is the space between the head and the greenhouse, which is used to adjust the body temperature before entering the greenhouse. With small arches and soft lighting, this section has provided a calm and pleasant atmosphere for visitors.
Greenhouse:
The hot house was a space for washing and bathing. In this section, there were hot and cold water basins, safes and other traditional bath equipment.
