Salt Men Museum, a window to history
Mardan Namaki Museum in Zanjan is a window to history and its untold secrets. This museum, which is located in the Zulfiqari mansion, a magnificent building from the Qajar period, houses five natural mummies that seem to have come out of history.
Time travel with salt men:
Stepping into the museum, it is as if you are traveling in time and returning to 2300 years ago, to the Achaemenid era. Salt men carry with them the secrets of life in that period. Their clothes, tools and life tools, which were discovered next to their bodies, tell a story from the distant past.
The secrets of mummies:
The special conditions of the Cheharabad salt mine are the secret of the immortality of salt men. The salt in the mine has absorbed their body water and prevented them from rotting. It is as if nature made a pact with them to pass on the secrets of life in that period to future generations.
Mardan Naki Museum, beyond a museum:
This museum is not only a place to store mummified bodies, but also a window to the history and culture of ancient Iran. By studying these mummies and the objects discovered next to them, archaeologists have obtained valuable information about the customs, clothing, food, occupation and even diseases of the people during the Achaemenid period.

Mardan Namaki Museum, as one of the most important tourist attractions of Zanjan province, attracts many tourists from home and abroad every year. Visitors to this museum will have a unique opportunity to learn about life in the Achaemenid era and see 2300-year-old natural mummies.
