This fort, which is located at an altitude of 655 to 715 meters above the sea level and above the heights of Heydar Alat region, due to its strategic location and special architecture, has never been conquered throughout history and is known as one of the impregnable fortresses of Iran.

The exact date of the construction of Rudkhan Castle is not known, but some historians attribute it to the Sassanid era. Throughout history, this castle has been used by various dynasties, including the Seljuks, Ismailis, and Safavids, and has witnessed important historical events.
Amazing architecture
Rudkhan Castle has a special and complex architecture that has made it one of the architectural masterpieces of Iran. This castle includes two main parts, the royal residence and the barracks. The royal part is located in the higher part of the castle and includes a palace, a bath, a mosque and several towers and ramparts. The barracks section is also located in the lower part of the castle and was the place where the soldiers were stationed.
Access path
To reach Rudkhan Castle, you need to move from Foman city to Rudkhan village. After reaching the village of Rudkhan, you will have a 1500 meter climbing path ahead of you to reach the entrance gate of the castle. This climbing route is an attractive and exciting experience on its own and offers you beautiful views of the surrounding forests.
