Rabat Alagband: a caravanserai in the heart of history
Rabat Alagband, a relic of the era of prosperity of the silk road, is located 40 km from the Mashhad-Nishabour road, in the village of Bezoushk. This Rabat, which dates back to the Timurid, Safavid and Qajar periods, is a treasure of Iranian architecture and an example of the magnificent caravanserais of that era.
Ligament architecture:
Central courtyard: The central courtyard of Rabat, with a large space and a stone pond, was a resting place for caravans and cattle.
Aiwan: The long iwan of Rabat, decorated with brickwork and tiling, was the main entrance of Rabat and the place where the guards were stationed.
Cells: Rabat’s numerous cells on two floors were the residences of caravans and merchants.
Stable: The stable of Rabat, with its wide space and high arches, was the place where caravans’ four-legged animals were kept.
Watchtowers: Rabat watchtowers were installed in its four corners to ensure the security of the caravanserai.

Brickwork: Delicate and geometric brickwork have given Rabat a special beauty and elegance.
Tiling: Maaqli and Maraq tiles with slim and geometric patterns dazzle the eyes of every viewer.
