Qeshm Geopark, a treasure in the heart of the Persian Gulf:
Qeshm Geopark, as the first geopark in the Middle East, with an area of about 3000 square kilometers, includes a unique variety of geological, historical and cultural phenomena. This geopark is like an open-air natural museum where you can discover the secrets of millions of years of earth’s history.
Geological phenomena:
Salt domes: These domes, which were created by the pressure of underground salts to the surface of the earth, have created an amazing and unique sight. Kalat Salt Dome is one of the most famous salt domes in this geopark, which is known as “Rainbow Salt Dome” due to the presence of colored streaks.
