Plund desert, a gem in the heart of the desert
As mentioned in the previous answer, Plund desert is located 40 km northwest of Ferdous city in South Khorasan province. The area of this desert is about 1000 square kilometers and it is limited to the Hezar Masjid mountains from the north, Bakharz mountains from the south, Dasht Lot from the east, and Siahkouh desert from the west.
Biodiversity:
Despite its harsh and dry appearance, the Pelund desert has a very high biodiversity. Various species of plants and animals can be seen in this area. Among these plants, we can mention Tag, Gaz, Askbil, and Dermene. Also, animals such as deer, wolf, fox, hyena and snake live in this desert.
Astrology:
Due to the absence of light pollution in Pelvand desert, this area has become one of the best places for stargazing in Iran. On clear and cloudless nights, you can see millions of stars in the desert sky and enjoy its magnificence and beauty.
Desert entertainment:
Plund desert is also an ideal place for those who like exciting activities and desert climbing. Camel riding, motorcycle riding and safari are among the activities that can be experienced in this desert.
