Money Museum: A journey to the history of money in Iran
Money Museum in Tehran is one of the specialized and attractive museums in the field of money and coins. This museum is located in a historical building from the first Pahlavi period.
History:
The Money Museum was established in 1376 by the Central Bank of Iran. This museum was originally located on Ferdowsi Street, but in 2009 it was moved to its current building on Valiasr Street.
Collection:
The Money Museum displays a valuable collection of coins, notes, and money-related objects from prehistoric to contemporary times. This collection includes more than 300,000 works collected from different parts of Iran.

The Money Museum has different sections:
Pre-Islamic section: In this section, coins and objects related to money from the pre-Islamic era are displayed.
Islamic section: In this section, coins and objects related to money from the Islamic era are displayed.
Banknote section: In this section, Iranian banknotes from the Qajar period to the contemporary period are exhibited.
Documents Section: In this section, documents related to the history of money in Iran are exhibited.
Library Department: The museum has a specialized library with more than 5000 books on money and coins.
