Miankale Lagoon, a gem on the southern shores of the Caspian Sea
Introduction:
Miankale Wetland, which is also known as Miankale Peninsula, is located at the southeastern tip of the Caspian Sea and near Behshahr city in Mazandaran province. This wetland with an area of about 48 thousand hectares is known as one of the largest wetlands in Iran and a wildlife sanctuary.

Miankale Wetland has a very high biological diversity. This wetland is home to various plant and animal species, including migratory birds, aquatic animals, and mammals.

Due to its location and climatic conditions, Miankale Wetland is known as one of the most important habitats of migratory birds in Iran. More than 200 species of migratory birds, including flamingos, swans, pelicans, and ducks, spend the winter in this wetland.

Miankale lagoon has very spectacular natural scenery. Among these landscapes, we can mention wetlands, forests, beaches, and plains.
Access path:
To access Miankale lagoon, you have to go from Haraz road towards Behshahr city. After passing the city of Behshahr, go to the village of Zaghmarz and reach Miankale Wetland through a dirt road.
