Maimand rock village, a jewel in the heart of the desert and the lost paradise of Kerman, is located in Kerman province. This summer village with cool and pleasant weather, pristine and green nature, and warm and hospitable people welcomes many tourists from all over Iran and even abroad every year.
Architecture:
The houses of Maimand village are carved in the heart of the rocks and they are more than 2000 years old. These houses are made of rock and clay. The rock section contains rooms, porches, and courtyards carved into the heart of the mountain. The brick part also forms the entrance of the houses and part of their roof.
Tourist Attractions:
Rock houses: These houses are the most unique attraction of Meimand village. Their age, special architecture, and their construction have made these houses one of the most spectacular tourist attractions in Iran.
Maimand Castle: This castle is located on top of a mountain overlooking the village and dates back to the Sasanian period.
Meimand fire temple: This fire temple was built during the Zoroastrian era and is currently used as a museum.
Maimand Jame Mosque: This mosque was built in the Safavid period and has a beautiful architecture.
Meimand Qanat: This Qanat is very old and supplies drinking water to the village.
