Markoeh Castle, a gem in the heart of Mazandaran forests
Introduction:

Marko Castle, also known as Marko Castle, is located in the Alborz forest heights and near Katalam city in Mazandaran province. This castle is actually a military fortress built on the top of a mountain with the same name and using materials such as stone and clay. This castle dates back to the post-Islamic era and probably the Al-Qiya period.
Architecture and features:
Markoeh Castle has an oval plan and an area of about 400 square meters. The castle consists of numerous towers and ramparts, a fence, an entrance gate, and several rooms and chambers. The main materials used in the construction of the castle are stone and mortar.
Location:
Markoeh Castle is located at an altitude of 500 meters above sea level and in the midst of thick and green forests. This location has given Markove Castle a very spectacular view. From the top of the castle, you can see the green plains, dense forests, and the Caspian Sea.
History:
The exact date of the construction of Markoh Castle is not known, but some experts attribute its date to the Al-Kia period in the 8th century AH.
Name of the castle:
The name Markoeh was chosen because of the presence of many snakes in the area at the time of the construction of the fort.
Access path:
To access Markoeh Castle, you need to drive from Haraz Road towards Ramsar City. After passing through the city of Ramsar, go to Katalam and reach the village of Talesh Mohalla through the Talasar road. Then, with a walk of about 300 meters through the forest, you can reach Markove Castle.
