Marble Palace

Marble Palace, which is also known as the Iranian Art Museum, is one of the historical palaces of Tehran that was built during the first Pahlavi period. This palace is located on Valiasr Street, between Imam Khomeini Street and Jumohri Street.
History:
The Marble Palace was built in 1316 by order of Reza Shah Pahlavi and was the residence of the Pahlavi family until 1355. After the Islamic revolution, this palace became a museum and was reopened to the public in 1357 under the title “Pahlavi Museum”.
Architecture:
The architecture of the Marble Palace is in the neoclassical style and is inspired by the architecture of European palaces. The exterior of the palace is covered with white marble and marble and other exquisite materials are used inside the palace.
Different sections:
The Marble Palace has different parts including halls, rooms, and galleries.
Salam Hall: This hall is the biggest hall of Marmar Palace and was used to receive foreign guests and government officials.
Hall of Mirrors: This hall is decorated with large mirrors and wall paintings and was used for celebrations and official ceremonies.
Dining hall: This hall was the place where the Pahlavi family and their guests ate.
Bedroom: The bedroom of Reza Shah Pahlavi and his wife has been preserved in this palace.
Gallery: Paintings and valuable works of art are exhibited in the gallery of the Marble Palace.
Museum:
Currently, the Marble Palace is used as a museum of Iranian art, where objects and documents related to the history of Iran are exhibited. These objects include paintings, sculptures, dishes, carpets, and coins.
