Khayyam’s tomb, a symbol of modern Iranian architecture
The tomb of Khayyam, an eminent Iranian poet and mathematician, is located in the city of Neishabur, Nagin Khorasan Razavi. This building, which is located in a green and clean garden, is world famous not only as Khayyam’s tomb, but also as a symbol of modern Iranian architecture.
Architecture:
Khayyam’s tomb was designed by Hoshang Sihon, a famous Iranian architect. In the design of this building, Sihun was inspired by Khayyam’s life and personality and created a unique work by using geometric and astronomical symbols and concepts.

The main building: The main building of the tomb is a marble cube placed on a platform. On the four sides of this building, there are four stone pillars that support the arch. Khayyam’s tombstone is located inside this building.
Yard: The yard of the tomb is a green and clean space that is decorated with different trees and flowers. In the middle of the yard, there is a pond that doubles its beauty.
Decorative elements: Khayyam’s tomb is decorated using different elements:
Inscription: Above the entrance door of the mausoleum, there is a marble inscription on which a poem by Malek al-Shaarai Bahar describing Khayyam is engraved.
Painting: inside the main building of the mausoleum, there are paintings of Khayyam’s face as well as paintings of his works.
Statue: A statue of Khayyam is installed in the courtyard of the tomb.

Number 10: The tomb building has 10 bases, which is the first two-digit number and the main base of numbers in mathematics and refers to Khayyam’s scientific position in mathematics.
