Kerman National Library: a gateway to science and knowledge
Kerman National Library is a gateway to knowledge and a treasure of scientific and cultural resources. This library, which was established in 1346 AH, is currently one of the largest public libraries in Iran with more than one million books.
Tank:
Kerman National Library’s repository includes Persian and Latin books on various subjects such as literature, history, social sciences, basic sciences, and technical engineering. Also, this library has an exquisite collection of manuscripts and lithographs that are kept in a separate repository. Among these manuscripts, Ferdowsi’s Shahnameh, Maulana’s Masnavi, and Saadi’s Bostan and Golestan can be mentioned.
Different sections:
Kerman National Library has different sections, including reference section, loan section, publications section, children and youth section, and blind section. In each of these departments, services and facilities are provided according to the needs of the clients.
Reference Section: In this section, visitors can access reference sources such as encyclopedias, dictionaries, and subject reference books.
Borrowing Section: In this section, visitors can borrow the books they want.
Publications section: In this section, all kinds of periodicals such as newspapers, magazines, and bulletins are presented to the visitors.
Children and teenagers section: In this section, books and resources suitable for children and teenagers are presented.
Section for the blind: In this section, braille books and other resources suitable for the blind are presented.
Services:
Kerman National Library provides various services including book loan, book reservation, book search in databases, and providing reference services to visitors. Also, this library organizes various cultural programs throughout the year, including literary meetings, book fairs, and educational workshops.
