Jame Mosque (Friday Mosque) of Borujard, dating back to the 2nd and 3rd centuries AH, is one of the oldest mosques in Iran and one of the most important historical and religious buildings in Borujard. This mosque, which has witnessed many ups and downs over time, displays a treasure of Iranian architecture and art in different periods.
Architecture:
Boroujard Grand Mosque with a rectangular plan and a lofty porch on the south side is an example of Iranian Islamic architecture.
Brick has been used as the main material in the construction of the mosque, and brick decorations have given it a special beauty and elegance.
The dome of the mosque, which is placed above the south porch, is a type of double domes and is decorated with mosaic tiles.
The mihrab of the mosque in the south porch is a masterpiece of the art of mosaic tiling and moqrans work.
The minaret of the mosque is located on the west side of the courtyard and is one of the tallest minarets in Borujerd city.
