Isfahan Music Museum: a song of Iranian history and culture
Isfahan Music Museum is one of the most attractive museums in Isfahan city. This museum, which is located in the house of Qawamuddin Shirazi, has displayed a large collection of Iranian and non-Iranian musical instruments.
History of Isfahan Music Museum:
The house of Qawamuddin Shirazi was built during the Zandiye period.
During the Qajar era, this house was renovated by Mirza Qawamuddin Shirazi.
In 1374, this museum was opened by transferring about 300 pieces of musical instruments from the Museum of Ancient Iran in Tehran to Isfahan.
Architecture of Isfahan Music Museum:
Qavamuddin Shirazi’s house has two floors and a central courtyard.
On the first floor of this building, there are various halls and rooms dedicated to the display of musical instruments.
On the second floor of this building, there is a library and the administrative department of the museum.
The courtyard of Qavamuddin Shirazi’s mansion is a pleasant and relaxing space, in the middle of which there is a large pond.
