Gorgan city discourse house (Kabir historical house): a treasure of history and culture
The Gorgan Shahr Discourse House, also known as Kabir Historical House, is a historical building related to the Qajar period, which is located in the city of Gorgan and in the Sabze neighborhood of Mashhad. This building was built in 1240 AH by the order of the late Mohammad Qasim Kabir, one of the famous merchants of Gorgan.
Architecture:
Khaneh Kabir is a unique example of native residential architecture in Gorgan city. This building has interior, exterior, central courtyard, pond, hall, porch, cellar, etc.
Entrance: The entrance of the great house is decorated with an arch and beautiful tiles.
Central courtyard: The central courtyard of Kabir’s house is a pleasant and green space, in the middle of which there is a large pond.
Hall: The hall of Khaneh Kabir is the largest space of this building, which is decorated with beautiful stucco and wall paintings.
Porch: The porch of the great house is located on the south side of the central courtyard and has wooden and brick columns.
Cellar: The cellar of the great house is located in the basement of the building and provides a cool and comfortable atmosphere for the residents in the hot seasons.
History:
Kabir House has witnessed many events throughout history. This building has been used as a residence, business and warehouse in different periods. In 1385 AH, this building was purchased and restored by the cultural heritage of Golestan province.
