Forough Al-Mulk House (Meshkin Fam Art Museum): A gem of art in the heart of Shiraz
History:
Forough Al-Mulk House, a magnificent building in the heart of Shiraz’s historical context, seems to have been remembered from the heart of Qajar history. This building was built in 1310 by “Qawamuddin Qawami” nicknamed “Forugh Al Mulk” and was used as a residential house until 1376. After that, this house was turned into a museum to display works of art with the efforts of “Meshkin Pham” family and it was registered as one of the national works of Iran on June 30, 1977 with the number 2040.
Architecture:
The architecture of Forough Al-Mulk’s house is a testimony to the taste and art of Iranian architects. This building was built on a land of 1020 square meters and includes two external and internal parts with two separate courtyards, Shahneshin mansion, pond, bathroom, etc.
Eye-catching decorations of tiling, brickwork, plastering, wall paintings and moqrans work everywhere in this building, as if the spirit of Iranian art has been breathed into it. Mesh windows and exquisite sashes have doubled the beauty of this house.
Meshkin Pham Art Museum:
In 1376, Forough Al-Mulk’s house was converted into a museum to display works of art. This museum, which is known as “Meshkin Pham Art Museum”, houses a treasure of Iranian art.
The works of painting, sculpture, calligraphy, pottery, etc. of prominent Iranian artists are exhibited in this museum. Also, a special part of the museum is dedicated to the display of artworks of the Meshkin Pham family.
