Ferdowsi’s tomb

Ferdowsi’s tomb: a jewel in the heart of the tree
Ferdowsi’s tomb shines like a jewel in Del Tos, a historical city 30 kilometers northwest of Mashhad. This tomb, which is located in the middle of a large garden with an area of 6 hectares, is the burial place of Hakim Abulqasem Ferdowsi, the poet of the Shahnameh epic.

The main building of the mausoleum, which is made of marble and has a turquoise dome, was designed by Hoshang Sihon, a prominent Iranian architect. This building consists of two parts:

The first part is a long square base with four columns on its four sides. On this base there is a conical dome decorated with turquoise tiles.
The second part is a square hall under the dome. Inside this hall, Ferdowsi’s statue made by Abolhasan Sedighi is installed.
On the four sides of the main building of the tomb, four statues of Shahnameh warriors are installed:

    Rostam statue
    Kavos Shah statue
    Birch statue
    Zal statue
