Espahbadan cave

Espahbadan cave is located in Shah Shahidan village, Khorgam district, Khorgam sector, Rudbar city. This cave dates back to the Iron Age and was registered as one of Iran’s national monuments on March 27, 2006 with registration number 22522. Espahbadan cave is worth visiting as one of the sights of Rudbar.
The mouth of the Espahbadan cave is located at a height of 20 meters from the ground and in a limestone rock. The length of this cave is about 75 meters and its width is between 5 and 20 meters. Espahbadan cave has several halls and rooms separated by natural columns. The walls and ceiling of the cave are covered with beautiful lanterns.
Inside the Espahbadan cave, remains of pottery and metal objects from the Iron Age have been discovered. These objects show that this cave was used as a place of residence in the past.
Espahbadan Cave is one of the popular tourist attractions in Gilan province due to its natural beauty and historical value. The best time to visit this cave is in spring and summer.
To go to Espahbadan cave, you must use the road from Rasht to Rudbar. After reaching the city of Rudbar, you must move towards the village of Shah Shahidan. Espahbadan cave is located near this village.
