Dragon Mountain, near the city of Garmsar, is not only known as the “Sleeping Dragon” because of its special folds and various colors, but there are also many legends and stories about it.

Some local people believe that this mountain was actually a giant dragon that was turned into stone by a spell. They say that on moonlit nights, the spirit of the dragon can be seen moving on the mountain.

But from a geological point of view, Dragon Mountain was formed by geological pressures over millions of years. These pressures have caused the earth’s sedimentary layers to become folded and take the form of a sleeping dragon.
