Dastkand Darion stream: a masterpiece from the Achaemenid era
Introduction:
Dastkand Darion Creek, also known as Daryoush and Darion Creek, is a masterpiece of ancient engineering located in Khuzestan province near the city of Shushtar. The history of this stream dates back to 2500 years ago, to the Achaemenid era, and it was built by the order of Darius the Great, the mighty Achaemenid king.

The Darion stream was built during the time of Darius the Great and in order to fulfill two important goals, i.e. irrigation of the Mianab plain and supply of drinking water to the city of Shushtar. This stream is branched from the Karun river and after traveling for about 30 kilometers, it reaches the middle water plain and plays a vital role in the prosperity of agriculture and the life of the residents of this area.
