Dareh Shahr is a city with a long history and pristine nature in Ilam province, which shines as if a gem in the heart of the Zagros mountain range. This city, which was known as Simre and Madakto in the past, as one of the first cities of the Elamites, is the narrator of untold stories of the history of Iran.

Throughout its history, the valley has experienced many ups and downs. From the glory and majesty of the Elamian and Sasanian eras to the destruction and looting during the Assyrian invasion of Bani Pal, this city has always witnessed important events in the history of Iran. In later periods as well, Dara Shahr has played a key role in the history of this region as the center of government of the governors of Ilam.

Sheikh Makan Castle: This castle, which is located in the center of Dara Shahr city, belongs to the Qajar period and tells about the power and authority of the rulers of that period.
Gaumishan Bridge: This bridge, which dates back to the Safavid period, displays a masterpiece of Iranian architecture with high arches and stone materials.
