Chah Darya: the secret of Ser to Mehr in the heart of the desert
Chah Darya is a natural and amazing phenomenon in Kerman province. This well, which is located 15 kilometers west of Davaran and near Odrej village, is known as one of the deepest natural wells in Iran. The depth of this well is about 93 meters and the diameter of its opening is between 20 and 60 meters.
The origin and secret of Chah Darya:
The exact origin of Chah Darya is not known. Some believe that this well was created by the subsidence of the earth. Others believe that this well is the remains of an underground lake whose water level has dropped drastically due to successive droughts.
Local legends:
There are many local legends about Chah Darya. One of these legends says that a Sarban was passing through this area when his camels fell into the well. After some time, Sarban finds his stick in Zayandeh Rood river. This incident makes local people believe in the existence of a communication path between Chah Darya and other rivers.
