Chaghakhor Lagoon, Nagini is located among the Zagros mountains and at the highest point of Iran. This wetland is one of the most important international wetlands of Iran, which is located in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province.

Because of its cool weather in summer, Chaghakhor lagoon has become one of the most important summer residences of Bakhtiari nomads. This wetland with its green reeds and surrounding hills has created a spectacular and relaxing view.
Biological and plant diversity:
The vegetation of this area consists mostly of hygrophilous plants. Petamgeton, saz, jagan chicken, willow and polygonium are some of the plant species of this wetland. Also, Chaghakhor wetland is a suitable habitat for water birds. Storks, flamingos, herons, swans, gypsy roosters, lush ducks, Salim, Balkans, Shekari, Akras, Kashim and Kakai are among the birds that can be seen in this wetland.
The importance of Chaghakhor wetland:
Chaghakhor wetland is one of the wetlands of the International Ramsar Convention and is also included in the list of Important Bird Areas (IBA). This wetland is part of Iran’s 11th biosphere reserve named “Tang Sayad-Sabzkoh”, which has been registered in the world.
