Birjand Museum of Anthropology: a journey into the history and culture of South Khorasan
Birjand Museum of Anthropology is located in the magnificent Akbariyeh mansion. This museum is more than 150 years old and is known as one of the most valuable anthropological museums in Iran.
In this museum, you can learn about the following:
Customs: You will get to know the way of life, customs and traditions of the people of South Khorasan in the past.
Clothing: You will see the variety of local clothes of different tribes of South Khorasan, including nomadic, rural and urban clothes.
Handicrafts: You will get to know the elegance and variety of handicrafts of South Khorasan, including carpet weaving, pottery, basket weaving, and blacksmithing.
Traditional occupations: You will see the tools and equipment related to the traditional occupations of South Khorasan people, such as agriculture, animal husbandry, and blacksmithing.
Architecture: You will get to know the traditional architecture of South Khorasan, including windmills, domes, and arches.

Ground Floor: On this floor, there are sections related to daily life, customs, and traditional businesses.
First floor: On this floor, there are sections related to clothing, ornaments, and handicrafts.
Yard: In the yard of the museum, you can see the beautiful green space as well as some examples of traditional agricultural tools and implements.
