Benyon Gorge, the lost paradise in the heart of the mountains
Benyon gorge is a deep and green valley in Bushehr province, Iran, which depicts a paradise lost in the heart of the mountains with tall rocks, soaring palm trees and roaring waterfalls. This gorge is located 35 km northeast of Ahram city and near Benar village, and due to its natural beauty and unique attractions, it has become one of the popular tourist destinations in southern Iran.
Denomination:
The name “Tengeh Benyon” is composed of two words “Tengeh” which means valley and “Benyon” which is the name of a local plant.
Outstanding properties:
Length: Benyon Strait is about 4 kilometers long and its width reaches less than 10 meters in some places.
Height: The height of the walls of the Benyon Gorge reaches more than 100 meters in some places and displays the greatness and splendor of nature.
Water: Along the path of Benyon Gorge, there are many springs whose clear and pleasant water flows into a small river at the bottom of the valley and brings freshness and vitality.
Vegetation: Benyon Gorge is safe for all kinds of local plants and trees, including palm trees, figs, and mountain almonds, which have created a remarkable biodiversity.
Wildlife: Benyon Gorge is home to a variety of wild animals, including antelope, deer, and partridge, adding to the area’s natural appeal.
