Amir Chakhmaq Square

Amir Chakhmaq Square is one of the most famous squares in Yazd city, which was built in the 9th century AH by the order of Amir Jalaluddin Chakhmaq, one of the generals of Shah Rukh Timuri. This square is located in the center of Yazd city and near Imam Khomeini Street and is known as one of the important tourist attractions of this city.
Amir Chakhmaq square consists of different parts such as Takiya, Bazaar, Mosque and Reservoir.
Relying on Amir Chakhmaq
The support of Amir Chakhmaq is located on the south side of the square and includes the entrance gate, two pavilions on the sides and an open space in the middle. Sardar Tekeh is decorated with tiling and moqrans work, and there are two tall minarets on top of it.
Amir Chakhmaq market
Amir Chakhmaq market is located on the eastern side of the square and includes two lines, north and south. All kinds of traditional Yazd goods and products are sold in this market, such as cashmere, Zilubafi, pottery and sweets.
Amir Chakhmaq Mosque
Amir Chakhmaq Mosque is located on the west side of the square and includes a nave, dome and two minarets. The nave of the mosque is decorated with tiles and moqrans, and there is a large pond in the middle of it.
Amir Chakhmaq Reservoir
Amir Chakhmaq Reservoir is located on the north side of the square and includes a large reservoir and a windbreak. The reservoir fan is used to ventilate the tank and keep the water cool.
