Job’s cave: a journey to the depths of Job’s mountain
Ayyub Cave, located near Dehj in Kerman province, attracts every tourist with the grandeur of its opening. This cave, which is located at an altitude of 2876 meters on Mount Ayub, is known as the largest cave opening in Iran. The mouth of the cave, 60 meters long and 80 meters high, is like a gate to an unknown world.
History and legends:
Ayub’s cave dates back to ancient times. Some believe that this cave was the place of worship of Prophet Ayub. The existence of a pond in the cave called “Arzoo Pond” and also “Vowing Arch” which is located at the entrance of the cave, shows the religious beliefs of the local people.
