Midandak Mausoleum Tower (Tehmina

Midandak Mausoleum Tower (Tehmina), which is also known as Tahmina Tower and Midandak Tower, is a historical building related to the Timurid period, located in Midandak village on the road from Karaj to Chalus. This tower with its special architecture is a relic of the past and is known as one of the tourist attractions of Alborz province.

History:

The construction date of Midandak Tomb Tower dates back to the 8th century AH and the Timurid period. There are different opinions about the name of this tower. Some believe that this tower is named after Tehmina, one of the characters of Ferdowsi’s Shahnameh. But another opinion is that the name of this tower is derived from the name of Midandak village where it is located.

Architecture:

Maidanak tomb tower is an octagonal building with a conical dome. This tower is made of brick and stone and beautiful brick decorations can be seen on its exterior. The entrance to the tower is on the west side and is decorated with a crescent arch. The interior of the tower is also octagonal and there are arches on each side.
